William Eugene Handy

William Eugene Handy - age 56 of Kansas City, MO passed away Tuesday , June 2, 2026. William was born on January 23, 1970 to Carl  and Martha  (Braden) Handy in Richmond, MO. He grew up in Polo and was a 1988 graduate of Cameron High School. William was a truck driver and  farmer. He enjoyed watching wildlife, caring for animals, especially his beloved dogs, and listening to music and books. William also loved watching sunrises and sunsets.  William will be remembered for his contagious laugh and will be greatly missed.  

Williams was preceded in death by his parents and aunt, Marion Taylor (Billy). He is survived by his siblings, Mary Marlatt (Isaac) of Cameron, MO, Bev Hufft (Tim) of Polo, MO, George Handy (Shelly) of Kearney, MO, Fran Stottlemyre (Tony) of Lewistown, MO, and Lou Lindsey (Dan) of Lawson, MO. Nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.  
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to  Polo Community Church or City of Cameron - Linda Griffin's Precious Pets Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating William's life will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home in Polo.  The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
