William “Bill” Allen Collier, 83, of Gallatin, Missouri, passed away on January 27, 2025, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri.
Bill was born on November 30, 1941, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Hobart and Gwendolyn Alta (Lee) Collier. He attended Gallatin High School where he was a star Bulldog basketball player. That’s also where he met RoDonna Claycomb and they graduated high school together in 1959. The high school sweethearts were married on April 23, 1961. Bill and RoDonna were happily married for 64 years and had two devoted sons Brent Allen and Terry Layne.
Bill was a loyal husband, father and grandfather. He was a farmer by trade and known for his responsible land stewardship. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Gallatin and volunteered with the local food bank and thrift store. Bill spent his free time fishing, traveling, antiquing and perusing local auctions, but he enjoyed these experiences most when sharing them with his grandchildren. He loved to watch and talk about Kansas City’s Royals and Chiefs teams with whoever could keep up with his professional sports knowledge.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his two siblings who passed in childbirth; his father and mother-in-law Gilbert and Hazel Claycomb; siblings-in-law Leanna (and Husband Tony) Tedrick and Freddie James Claycomb.
He is survived by his wife RoDonna of the home; his son Brent and his wife Cindy and two daughters Brooke and Jill of Brunswick, MO; and his son Terry and his wife Nicole and their daughter Reese of Sedalia, MO. He is also survived by Terry's sons Creighton of Warrensburg and Cooper (wife Lesley, son Gideon) of Greenwood.
