Wilbur Eugene Bush

Wilbur Eugene Bush - age 85 of Gallatin, MO passed away Saturday evening, May 24, 2025, at Livingston Manor in Chillicothe. Wilbur was born on May 12, 1940, the son of Wilbur "Jim" and Irene Elizabeth (Wear) Bush in Shelbina, MO. He was a 1958 graduate of Grant City High School. Wilbur received a bachelor's degree in education from Warrensburg and then a master's degree from Maryville. He married Judith Spidle on November 23, 1968, at First Baptist Church in Gallatin. He retired from the Gallatin R-V School District in 2000 after a dedicated 32 year career. Wilbur loved to garden and work in his shop. He wrote two children's books and wrote for area newspapers, particularly historical research. Wilbur also enjoyed walking around town. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; daughter, Valerie Burton (Bryce) of Oregon, MO; and grandchildren: Emily Burton of St. Joseph, MO, Taylor Burton of Oregon, MO, Matthew Burton of Oregon, and Wyatt Burton.
 
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Active Aging Resource Center. Friends may call from 11 AM to 4 PM, Thursday at the funeral home. Private services for close friends and family will be held. Burial at Lick Fork Cemetery, south of Gallatin Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin.
