Vivian Louise (Dunn) Eads Obituary

Vivian Louise (Dunn) Eads - age 92 of Trenton, MO passed away Saturday afternoon, December 11, 2021, at Sunny View Nursing Home in Trenton, Missouri. Vivian was born on June 6, 1929, to Ralph and Kathryn (Bunnell) Dunn on her parent's farm in the southern Jamesport area (Daviess County).  She attended Jamesport grade school, also Red and Blackburn country schools; then graduated from Jamesport High School in 1948.  After graduation, Vivian began attending college during the summer sessions and teaching in the winter.  She received her teacher's certificate and graduated from Northwest Missouri State College at Maryville, MO.  She taught at Jamesport (Sixth grade) for six years, then moved to Trenton, Missouri to work at the Social Service Department of Family Services for 20 years, then retiring.  She and Max Eads were married on May 19th, 1950. One son, Max Alan Eads was born in 1951.  They divorced in 1968; in 1984 she was married to Vernon McClaskey at Trenton.  


Vivian was a member of Trenton First Baptist Church.  She belonged to the Eastern Star of Jamesport for many years, having served at Worthy Matron.  She also served as president of the Jamesport V.F.W. Women's Auxillary and remained a member of the V.F.W. Auxillary in Trenton.  Vivian has been a member and past president of the Ninety Nine Club of Trenton and also a member of the Grundy County Friends of the Arts and the Business and Professional Club.  She served on the Serve Link Care Board when it was first established in Trenton. She was a member of the Wright Memorial Hospital Auxillary and served on the Grundy County Cancer Society. She was also a member of the Gleeful Red Hats.  
 

Vivian enjoyed playing bridge and other card games.  She loved traveling to see this big, beautiful world. She had been to all 50 states, enjoying many things to see and do in each one.  She had traveled overseas to England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Litchenstein, Israel, Holy Land and Luxemburg. In later years, when her health permitted, she enjoyed going to Branson for a few days, two or three times in the summer.
 

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include her son, Alan and his wife Nancy who live in Rolla, Missouri, a grandson, Matthew Eads, a brother, Ray Dunn and his wife Marilyn of Kearney, Missouri and their five daughters and their families. Several cousins also survive. 
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home (PO Box 56 Jamesport, MO 64648). Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, December 16th, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Jamesport. There is no scheduled family visitation.  Friends may call from 9 AM to noon on Thursday.
