Viola May Walker - age 78 of Gallatin, MO passed away Monday morning, May 30, 2022, at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron. Viola was born on December 18, 1943, the daughter of Clifford and Bertha (Tucker) Hogan in Daviess County, MO. She attended Gallatin Schools. Viola married James Walker on June 16th, 1963, in Daviess County. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, and gardening. Viola loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; she loved her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Walker; son, William Walker; and siblings, Bobby Hogan, Charles Hogan, Dolly Curtis, and Louisa Jane Tucker. She is survived by her children, Penny Stone (Tom Merrigan) of Coffey, MO, Todd Walker (Elizabeth Crockett) of Gallatin, Cynthia Hill (Doug Doyle) of Hardin, MO, Sarah Curtis (Mike) of Gallatin, MO; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren on the way; siblings, Fay Wortman (Blackie) of Gallatin, MO, and Connie Cecil (Bruce) of Coffey, MO. Nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 3, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
