Victoria "Vicki" Ann Schweizer

Victoria "Vicki" Ann Schweizer - age 59 of Gallatin, MO passed away Tuesday morning, September 20, 2022, in Gallatin. Vicki was born on September 24, 1962, the daughter of Gene and Ann (Trimm) Schweizer in Cameron, MO. 

Heaven's Special Child; A meeting was held quite far from earth "it's time again for another birth,'' said the angels of the Lord above. "this special child will need much love, her progress may seem slow; accomplishments she may not show. And she'll require much extra care from all the folks she meets down there. She may not laugh or run or play; her thoughts may seem quite far away. In many ways, she won't adapt.  And she'll be known as 'handicapped'. So let's be careful where she's sent, we want her life to be content. Please, Lord, find the parents who will do this special job for you.  They will not realize right away the leading role they're asked to play, but with the child from above, comes stronger faith and richer love.  And soon they'll know the privilege given in caring for this gift from heaven - their precious child so meek and mild is "heaven's very special child." 

Vicki's life touched many--her family, babysitters, care-givers, and friends in the community--teaching understanding, acceptance,sacrifice and compassion. She will be long remembered.

Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Gene Schweizer and sister, Carolyn Schweizer. She is survived by her mother, Ann Schweizer of Gallatin, MO; siblings, Elizabeth Plotner (Troy Smith) of Gallatin, MO, Ray Schweizer of Fort Myers, FL, and Steven Schweizer (Macon) of Gallatin, MO; nephew, Sean Plotner (Joanna) of Rosedale, CA, niece, Chelsea Bradley (Ernest) of Tallahasse, FL, nephew, Ian Plotner (Maggie) of Nashville, TN, nephew, Declan Schweizer (Megan Hydorn) of Gallatin, MO, nephew, Owen Schweizer (Caragan Baker) of Gallatin, MO, nephew, Draygan Schweizer of Gallatin, MO, niece, Olivia Schweizer of Gallatin, MO; brother-in-law, Jeff Plotner (Jan Shriner-Plotner); aunts, uncles, cousins and caregivers from Access II, Beth, Wendy, Shirley, Mary Rachel, Deanna, Sheri, Sam and Shirley, and long-time friend and physician, Dr. Larry Dickinson.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Durable Medical Equipment Loan Program through Access II in care of the funeral home. The family will receive friends in honor of Vicki's 60th birthday, between 3-4pm, Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the home of her sister, 502 S Willow Street, Gallatin, MO.
