Teddy "Ted" Lockmiller

Teddy "Ted" Lockmiller - age 63 of Lathrop, MO went home to be with Jesus Tuesday evening, November 12, 2024, at his home in Lathrop. Ted was born on April 1, 1961, the son of James E. and Mary Ann (Bowers) Lockmiller in St. Joseph, MO.  He was a lifelong resident of Lathrop and a 1979 graduate of Lathrop High School. Ted married Lucinda "Cindy" Hayden, the love of his life, on June 22nd, 1985, at the Pentecostal Church of God in Cameron, MO. Ted began working at the age of 15 at Howard's Super Market in Lathrop. He briefly worked at John's Super in Kearney, MO, before returning to Lathrop and retiring from Hy-Klas as the meat department manager in 2015. Ted was an excellent bass singer as well as having a talent for impersonating voices. He loved to spend time with his family, watch sports and love on the family's Miniature Aussie Dogs. Ted loved Jesus Christ and enjoyed ministering to those that God put in his path. He was also an associate pastor at their church, Living Word Church in Excelsior Springs. Ted's joking personality will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, and stepfather, Pete Barnes. He is survived by his wife Cindy of Lathrop; sons, Brent Lockmiller of Lathrop, MO and Blake Lockmiller of Lathrop, MO; sister, Donita Holman (Tom) of Lathrop, MO; nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Living Word Church in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Ted's life will be held at noon, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Living Word Church, in Excelsior Springs, MO.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 AM, Saturday, also at the church.  Burial will follow at Lathrop Cemetery.
