Sue Belsher - age 74 of Altamont, MO passed away Monday afternoon, December 6, 2021, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Sue was born on December 11, 1946, the daughter of Isaac and Lillian Grace (King) Cox in Lock Springs, MO. She was a 1963 graduate of Gallatin High School. She worked as a nursing manager at Mark Twain Retirement Center in Moberly and Huntsville, Highlands Nursing Home in Gallatin and the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron. Sue married Lonnie Norris on September 15th, 2014, in Lake, Mississippi. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Gallatin. Sue enjoyed going over the road with Lonnie, dancing, having a good time, cooking, watching hummingbirds and trips to the casino. She also enjoyed spending time with grandkids and fishing. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cathy Jean Cox. She is survived by her husband Lonnie Norris of Altamont, MO; four children, Bill Pettit (Stacy) of Gallatin, MO, Mark Pettit (Heidi) of Jamesport, MO, Sherri Smith (Chance) of Gallatin, MO, John Pettit (Renay) of Gallatin, MO, and stepdaughter, Valerie Hopper (Jeff) of Boonville, MO; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Dale Cox (Carol) of Gallatin, MO and Judy Srca (Lee) of Junction City, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Lonnie Norris to help with final expenses in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the First Christian Church in Gallatin. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will follow the services at Whitt Cemetery, Gallatin, MO. Friends may call from 11 AM to 5 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
