Shirley Louise Simpson - age 62 of Kingston, MO passed away Thursday afternoon, February 18th, 2021 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. Shirley was born on February 26th, 1958 daughter of Nova Dale Glidewell and Wanda Joyce (Thomas) Glidewell in St. Joseph Mo. She grew up in St Joseph and Savannah and attended Lafayette High School in St Joseph. In 1992 she was United in marriage to Thomas D. Simpson in Ray County, MO. Shirley had lived the last 28 years in rural Kingston. She worked in retail sales at Casey's, TrexMart and Walmart. Shirley enjoyed spending quality time with her family playing spades, yahtzee, and going to the boat. She was also a pool shooting competitor and a NFL football fan. Shirley was known for coloring and creating pictures for the family. She especially enjoyed the Fourth of July and having family over for Christmas. She will be dearly missed.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Eddie Joe Glidewell, and Matthew Todd Glidewell. Survivors: husband Thomas Simpson of the home; children, Dana D. (David) Caselman of Kidder, Robert J. (Patricia) Bowman of Excelsior Springs, and Sara L. Fugere of Excelsior Springs; siblings Edie (Kevin) Buckner of Strafford, Kimberly (Sean) Schmidt of St Joseph, Kevin (Mary) Glidewell of Topeka Grandchildren: Tayler, Kaytie, Robert, Aaron, Skylor, and Jazmaine; Great‐grandchildren: Timberlyn and Noah. Nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members also survive.
