Shirley Jo Lukehart

Shirley Jo Lukehart - age 87 of Gallatin, MO passed away Sunday afternoon, February 25, 2024, at Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin, Missouri. Shirley was born on August 9, 1936, the daughter of Leslie and Edith (Sheeler) Snider in Daviess County, MO. Shirley grew up in Gallatin and attended Gallatin schools. She married Kenneth Lukehart on February 12th, 1953, in Gallatin. In addition to being a homemaker she cleaned houses and was a server at the Gallatin School District. Shirley was a member of the Gallatin First Baptist Church. She loved to clean and as a result had a spotless home; everything was in its place.  Shirley and Kenny enjoyed fishing together. She crocheted a lot and enjoyed word searches.  Shirley always took care of Kenny and her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenny; children, Steven Charles Lukehart and Penny Rea Lukehart; siblings, Max Snider, JD Snider, Gayle Watson, and Mary Ann Shepard. She is survived by her children, Jerry Lukehart of Gallatin, MO, Theresa Schill (Scott) of Warrensburg, MO, and Kim Cornett (Terry) of Gallatin, MO; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Gallatin School District Backpack Buddies Program or the Active Aging Resource Center in care of the funeral home. The family will gather with friends from 11 AM to Noon, Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. There will be a meal following at the Daviess County Country Club.
