Sharron Kay (Hill) Collins-Jones - age 81 of Gallatin, MO passed away Friday morning, July 30th, 2021 at Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin. Sharron was born on October 27th, 1939 the daughter of Marion Mann and Lola Mae (Lockridge) Hill in Jamesport, MO. She grew up in Jamesport and was a 1957 graduate of Jamesport High School. On August 31st, 1957 she was united in marriage to Robert Collins at the Jamesport United Methodist Church, where she was a member. They made their home in Gallatin and to this union, five children were born. She worked in the nursing field and obtained her LPN degree in 1992 from Trenton Junior College. Sharron worked many years for Dr. Bailey. She also worked at the nursing home in Gallatin and then Western Missouri Correctional Facility in Cameron. On March 18th, 2000 she was united in marriage to Jack Jones at the Highway Christian Church near Bethany, MO, where she was currently a member. Sharron was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Family was very important to her, and she loved her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Sharron had a big heart and always had lots of kids she considered her children. She was always there for others, leaving a legacy of love and acceptance. Her loving legacy lived on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Sharron enjoyed crocheting, reading, sewing, and decorating. She could do anything. Sharron will be dearly missed.
Sharron was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Jones; son, Rob Collins; sisters, Cinda Hamilton and Linda Wise. Survivors include: children, Teresa (David) Iddings of Coffey, Julie Holcomb of Jameson, Dennis Collins of Gallatin, Michelle (Jason) Anderson of League City, TX; sister, Barbara Whitt of Jamesport; grandchildren, Devan (Crystal) Iddings of Cresco, IA, Derrick Iddings of Coffey, Darcie (Brian) Raney of Chillicothe, Logan Negley (Heather) of Dickinson, TX, Lauren Holcomb of Jameson, Jacob Collins of St. Joe, Joshua (Valeria) Anderson of Ft. Worth, TX, Laci (Joshua) Noel of LaPlata, Larissa Garrens (Josh) of Kansas City, Katie Anderson (Zach) of San Marcos, TX, and Taylor Collins; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Active Aging Resource Center in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Monday (the evening prior) at the funeral home. Friends may call after 11 AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial at a later date at Crab Orchard Cemetery north of Gallatin, MO.
