Scott W. Bridges

Scott W. Bridges – age 83, of Lathrop, MO passed away Wednesday morning, December 16th,2020 at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill.  Scott was born on August 6th, 1937 the son of Henry and Mildred Bridges in Atherton, MO. He was a 1956 graduate of William Chrisman High School.  Scott worked as a finish coat painter for Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, MO for 30 years.  He “put the pretty” on the new cars. Scott moved to the farm in Lathrop in 1978. On September 15th, 1978 he was united in marriage to Barbara Sells. He built a home for Barbara and her two children on the farm. Scott was of the Baptist faith and was very religious.  He enjoyed flat track motorcycle racing, working, singing and playing the guitar. Scott was a talented auto mechanic.  He could do anything.  Scott loved to build anything from machinery, cars, tractors and buildings. He received compliments from everyone on the work that he did.  Scott and stepson, Scotty built things over the years together and were a team. Scott will be dearly missed.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John and Paul. Survivors include: wife, Barbara of the home; children, Kathy Gouldsmith of Independence, Heidi Dagenett of Kansas City, KS, Stephanie Matthews of Warrensburg, Bonnie Meyers of Blue Springs; stepchildren, Scott Roscoe of Wentzville, Janelle Roscoe of St. Louis; numerous grandchildren and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Lathrop Cemetery in care of the funeral home. Graveside Service with Full Military Honors: 2 PM, Tuesday, December 29th, 2020, Lathrop Cemetery, Lathrop, MO. Visitation: 1 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
