Sandy Turner - age 71 of Polo, MO passed away Saturday afternoon, March 27th, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. Sandy was born on January 3rd, 1950, the daughter of Earl and Evelyn (Shores) Martindale in Kansas City, MO. She grew up in Kansas City and was a graduate of Southeast High School. Sandy was united in marriage to Thomas Turner in North Kansas City and made their home there, before settling in Polo in 1995. She worked for an attorney as a secretary and Simplex Time Recording. Later, Sandy drove a school bus for the Polo and Lawson school districts. She was always happy and loved the Kansas City Chiefs. Sandy enjoyed playing bingo and shopping, especially at Walmart. She will be dearly missed.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Tommy Turner. Survivors include: husband, Thomas of the home; son, Fred (Jeana Bailey) Martindale of Polo; grandchildren, Jacob Shipp, Harley Arnes and Christian Martindale; great-grandchildren, Eritrea Shipp and Tuesday Arnes; mother-in-law, Icie Turner; brothers-in-law, Timmy (Bambi) Turner of Independence and Jackie Turner of Braymer; sister-in-law, Sherry (Will) Ramey of Independence; other extended family members also survive.
The family will receive friends from 2 PM to 4 PM, Saturday, April 10th , 2021 at Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo. Burial at a later date at Zimmerman Cemetery in Polo.
