Sandra L. (Hamer) Ripley

Sandra L. (Hamer) Ripley, age 82, of Lathrop, Missouri, passed away Wednesday morning, June 17, 2026, at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri. Sandra was born on May 6, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Opal Lee and Bessie Hazel (Riley) Hamer. Sandra grew up in Northmoor and graduated from Park Hill High School in 1962 and was a proud member of the Moose Lodge for many years. On March 1, 1969, Sandra married the love of her life, William I. Ripley, in Liberty, Missouri. Throughout her life, Sandra worked in a variety of roles, including at Colonial Patterns in North Kansas City, Lathrop Nursing Home, HyKlas Grocery, Howard's Market and as a carhop in Riverside.

Sandra had a zest for life and enjoyed spending time outdoors and with those she loved. She loved growing plants and flowers, shopping, swimming, watching movies, traveling and taking trips to the mountains of Colorado. She enjoyed horseback riding, boating, fishing and spending time with her beloved dogs. Sandra had a unique personality and was truly one of a kind, a cheerful grump whose wit, honesty, and sense of humor brought smiles to those around her. Sandra will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald L. Hamer. Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Bill Ripley of the home; her son, Bill Ripley and wife Marci of Lathrop; her grandchildren, Dakotah Petty and wife Annie, and Johnathon Peoples and wife Sophia; her great-grandchildren, Kaden and Rhome; and her brother, Mike Hamer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Sandra's life will be held at Noon Saturday, June 27th, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home in Lathrop.  The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Mt.
