Sandra K Chipley-Joyce, "Sandie", age 72 of Kansas City, Missouri received her own angel wings after a long fought battle with kidney disease and various other medical complications on Thursday, November, 20, 2025. Sandie was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to those she met. Born to Henry and Stella Chipley on February 24, 1953 in Kansas City, MO, where she began to establish her roots. She attended Van Horn High School until her graduation in 1972. Sandie was a believer in work hard, play hard. She began her career at Montgomery Wards. Sandie dedicated much of her career working in the business she started. To her, she wasn't just a house cleaner, she was a Maid of Honor. Later on she took on a second job working in retail until her retirement. Sandie was later married to Tom Joyce. During her marriage to Tom she became a bonus mom to two daughters, Amy and Jennifer, and in their union added one more daughter, Melissa. While the marriage did not last, she continued to love and cherish all of her daughters and grandchildren. Sandie had a profound joy for life. She sought to find a way to bring laughter during challenging times that life presented and to find the silver lining, often saying to those around her that there was no other way to be than happy. Sandie had a passion for collecting antiques and treasures that brought her joy. Her passions included angels, crafting and making jewelry, collecting perfume bottles and dolls, Betty Boop, and she loved to enjoy an ice cold Pepsi.
Sandie was proceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Colt) Schletzbaum; grandchildren, Austin Schletzbaum and Korie Derrow; brothers: David (Debbie) Chipley, Joe Chipley, and Jim (Maria) Chipley; along with bonus daughters and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
