Roger Lee Lankford

Roger Lee Lankford - age 86 of Gallatin, MO passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 08, 2026 at Cameron Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri. Roger was born on December 15, 1939, in Los Angeles, CA, to Harvey Lee and Agnes Marie Lankford. He attended Southern Illinois University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a nuclear engineer, a role that reflected both his intelligence and his steady commitment to others. On October 18, 1959, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Margarite Jueden, in Las Vegas, NV. Roger was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cameron, Missouri. Roger found joy in life’s simple pleasures, casting a line while fishing, keeping his yard just right, and most of all, spending time with his beloved dog, Dude, who was a constant and loyal companion. Roger will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to his family, and the quiet way he showed his love through everyday moments. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margarite Lankford; children, Roger Lankford Jr. and Maria Lankford. He is survived by his children, Peggy Lankford of Gallatin, MO and David Phillip Lankford (Cecelia) of Huston, TX; grandchildren, David Lankford Jr. (Sarah) and Tamiana Lankford; and brother, Phillip Lees of CA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church or Hamilton American Legion Post #285 in care of the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Lake Viking Cemetery, Gallatin, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 11th, 2026 at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin, MO.
