Roger Dean Chaney

Roger Dean Chaney - age 58 of Lathrop, MO passed away Tuesday evening, August 1, 2023, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO. Roger was born on April 13, 1965, the son of Charles and Esther (Morris) Chaney in Cameron, MO. He was a 1983 graduate of Lathrop High School. Roger married Lisa Green on June 25th, 1994, at the First Baptist Church of Lathrop. He was very active in church and sang in the praise band. Roger was an honorable and Godly man. He was artistic and enjoyed crafting and designing floral arrangements. Roger also enjoyed baking. He had a funny personality and was a people person. Roger will be missed, but his family takes comfort knowing he is resting, peacefully in the arms of Jesus.  

Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Chaney. He is survived by his wife, Lisa of Lathrop, MO;  children, Anna Chaney (Jacob Hund) of Lathrop, MO and Caleb Chaney (Morgan Meroney) of Lathrop, MO; father, Charles Chaney of Lathrop, MO;  siblings, Cathy King of Lathrop, MO, Rusty Chaney (Kristi) of Lathrop, MO, Gary Chaney (Karen) of Cameron, MO, and Carol Williams of Lathrop, MO; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Lathrop Building Fund, the American Heart Association, the American Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at noon, Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Lathrop.  The family will begin receiving friends at 10 AM until service time at the church on Tuesday. Friends may call from 1PM to 5 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lathrop Cemetery.
