Roberta Ann (Fuller) Vaughn - age 72 of Lathrop, MO passed away Wednesday morning, September 15th, 2021 at her home. Bert was born on October 23rd, 1948 the daughter of Roger Thomas and Lois Edna (Sanders) Fuller in Kansas City. She grew up in North Kansas City and was a 1967 graduate of North Kansas City High School. On December 10th, 1977 she was united in marriage to Robert Vaughn at Winnwood Methodist Church in Kansas City. Together, they made their home in Lathrop. She was a member of the Lathrop United Methodist Church. Bert helped open Casey’s General Store in Lathrop and she also worked at Mid America Frames in Plattsburg. Later, she worked for Walmart in Excelsior Springs. She loved playing Bingo every Tuesday night at the Lathrop Antique Grounds. Bert also enjoyed socializing and filling everyone’s coffee at the Hungry Mule, even though she didn’t work there. She also liked growing flowers and plants, shopping, sewing and breakfast trips with grandkids and great-grandkids. Roberta was a wonderful woman who never knew a stranger. She had many “adopted” children and grandchildren. Bert would help anyone in anyway that she could. She loved cooking for friends and family. Bert will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and two stepfathers, Leroy “Buzz” Gordon and William DePoortere. Survivors include: husband, Bob of the home; children, Jim (Kellie) Armstrong of Smithville, Aaron (Christine) Armstrong of Independence and Jennifer (Tom) Jordan of Lathrop; stepchildren, Robert (Dana) Vaughn of Kansas City and Chris (Christy) Vaughn of Kansas City; grandchildren, Blake (Rielly), Bailey, Jeffery, Brittany, Jimmy, Jake, Carter, Dana and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Kason and Makynlee; brother, Roger (Joan) Fuller of Kansas City; sister, Sue (Kimo) Macasio of Seneca, KS; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Noah’s Bandage Project in care of the funeral home. A visitation is scheduled from 4 to 6 PM, Sunday, September 19th, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Lathrop. Cremation will follow the visitation.
