Robert "Bob" L. King

Robert L. “Bob” King – age 93 of Jamesport, MO, passed away Monday morning, August 31, 2020 at his home.  Bob was born on April 15, 1927 the son of Charles and Edith (Tucker) King in Bethany, MO where he was raised.  He served in the United States Army during World War II.  Bob married Emma Francis Dunn on October 11th, 1947.  They made their home in Jamesport and to this union 11 children were born.  Bob retired from the Jamesport Elevator.  He was a member of the Jamesport Church of Christ.  Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, watching westerns, game shows, wrestling and sports of all kinds. He had a knack for working on lawnmowers and mechanical work.  Bob could do just about anything he set his mind to.  He was a jack of all trades.  Bob will be missed by many.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma; son, Ronald Dean King; son, Robert Lee King; daughter, Rita Faye King; grandson, Charlie Benge; grandson, Byron King and several brothers and sisters.  Survivors include: son, Robert Wayne King of Columbia, MO; daughter, Betty Benge of St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Marilyn Tolen of Gladstone, MO; daughter Debbie King of Jamesport, MO; son, Jim (Cindy) King of Chillicothe, MO; son, Jerry King of Jamesport, MO; daughter, Carol Burrell of St. Joseph, MO; son, Steven (Janelle) King of Jamesport, MO; sister, Velma Maddox of Gallatin, MO; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren (including 2-five generations) as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Oakland Cemetery in care of the funeral home.  Funeral service: 1 PM, Friday, September 4th, 2020, Stith Funeral Home, Gallatin. Visitation: 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, the evening prior (September 3rd), Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. Friends may call 11 AM to 5 PM, Thursday at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin.
