Robert "Bob" Dale Hall Sr.

Robert (Bob) Dale Hall, Sr. was born on December 3rd, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri, to his loving parents Louis and Betty Hall.  He passed peacefully on June 17th, 2026, surrounded by family members and excellent nurses at North Kansas City Hospital.  Bob is survived by his second wife, Judy (Mejia) Hall--with whom he spent 44 adventurous years—a son, Robert Dale Hall, Jr and wife Jodi of Holt, and step-daughter Lisa Mejia of Parkville.  In addition, multiple nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and particularly great-great nieces and nephews always brought a sparkle to his eyes.  He loved nothing more than to swing the littles in between his legs endlessly—until his shoulders protested from the act.  

Bob grew up with brothers Howard (deceased) and Steve, and their sister Carol Sue.  His parents Louis and Betty raised a family strong in love and laughter. As a kid, Bob listened to country/western music—which would become a life-long favorite. He enjoyed fishing and generally anything not related to school work.  

As a young man, Bob joined the Air Force which led to stints in Rapid City, South Dakota, Tacoma, Washington, and Iceland as a hydraulics specialist.  Upon his honorable discharge, Bob began a career in trash hauling and subsequently truck driving.  These provided a source of income and pride for his young wife Irene and their son Robert. Bob spent career years working for many companies: Fast Trash Hauling, Navajo, ProSource, Rainen Business Interiors, Office Source, and finally retiring from Liberty Fruit Company in 2015.  Never at a loss for a quip, he would offer driving instructions to anyone by telling them to “take this here road down to this here other road and turn left right there”.  He often said, “have truck, will travel”.  His ability to load a truck was uncanny even in his last years.

Bob would begin his long-term membership with the Masons, specifically his relationship with Temple Lodge #299 in the mid 1980’s.  His father Louis was an inspiration to Bob and his brother Steve who followed his footsteps with both attaining the title of Worshipful Master.  Bob still attended Lodge meetings well into his golden years and those brought him great happiness.  

Bob was always willing to lend a helpful hand to anyone who needed it.  When he and Judy became active with the Holt United Methodist church, he would volunteer to greet members, create and paint reflectors for the parking lot, and help out however asked.  His church family will miss him dearly.

Bob would delight in watching television shows like Walker, Texas Ranger, Blue Bloods, NCIS (aka, “Gibbs”), and any Western show/movie.  He could sit and watch a “shoot-em-up cowboy” anytime—even if he’d seen it 500 times already. Many times, he would comment on the trials and tribulations of Marshall Dillon and Chester from “Gunsmoke” or wonder if Walker and “Chevette” would get the bad guys before the show was over. 

He also loved any country music, but preferred the classic singers of Ernest Tubb, Hank Williams Sr, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Patsy Cline, and Conway Twitty.  He could sing any song from the 1940’s on and was also quite the whistler.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either Holt United Methodist church or North Care Hospice House in his name.

Celebration of Life will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Holt United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 5, 2026 at  Holt United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Holt.
