Robert "Bob" William Swope

Robert "Bob" William Swope - age 57, of Polo, Missouri passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 27, 2023, at his home. Robert was born on December 24, 1965, the son of Robert Leslie and Sharon Elaine (Graham) Swope in Olathe, KS. He grew up in Richmond and was a 1984 graduate of Richmond High School. Bob served in the United States Navy from December 1985 until his honorable discharge in December 1990. He married Cheryl White on October 31st, 1992, in Richmond, MO. Bob worked for General Motors for over 27 years. He was a great father and husband, a true family man. Bob loved to talk and was friends with everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed mowing and loved a good project, mostly planning it.  Bob was funny and could make anyone laugh; he was a practical joker.  Cheryl taught him to sew and quilt and he enjoyed it. Bob also loved to cook and try new recipes. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Swope and son, Joe Osborne. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Swope of Polo, MO; father, Robert Swope of Lawson, MO; children, Mindy Osborne of Lathrop, Jason Swope, Allen Swope, Olivia Swope, and Tristan Swope all of Polo, MO; siblings, Teresa Swope of Excelsior Springs, MO; Jerry Swope (Nicole) of WV; Terry Warren (Andra) of Lathrop, MO; sister-in-law, Linda Cooper (Mike) of Raytown, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, June 30, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home in Polo. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Friends may call after 11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
