Robert “Bob” McPheeters – age 77 of Lees Summit, MO passed away Sunday evening, November 4th, 2018 at John Knox Village Care Center in Lees Summit. Bob was born on September 29th, 1941 the son of Russell and Merle (Blodwin) McPheeters in Cowgill, MO. He was a 1959 graduate of Polo High School. On December 8th, 1962 he was united in marriage to Patricia Stratton at the Cowgill United Methodist Church. He worked various positions for Western Electric, which later became AT&T for over 30 years. Bob was a member of the Pioneer’s Club and the Cowgill United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his granddaughters. Bob was intelligent, gentle and soft spoken, but solid as they come. Bob trusted everyone, he would help anyone and he always had a smile on his face. He was a great mechanic, he could build or fix anything and even built racecars in high school. Bob enjoyed spending time on the farm near Cowgill.
Mr. McPheeters was preceded in death by his parents, sister Emily Sue Pollard and other extended family members. Survivors include: wife, Pat of the home; daughter, Belinda Ann Barr and husband Kenneth of Springfield, MO; granddaughter, Jennifer Coffman and husband, Steve of Springfield, MO; granddaughter, Erica Barr of Kansas City, MO; great-grandchildren: Aleczander and Isabel Coffman; sister, Betty Mason of Cowgill, MO; other extended family also survives. Bob was a friend to many and he will be dearly missed by all who knew hm.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to Cowgill Cemetery Association or the Cowgill United Methodist Church in loving memory of Robert “Bob” McPheeters. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo with Rev. Kyle Stith, officiating. The family will receive friends one-hour prior at the funeral home. Friends may call after 9:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Cremation to follow the services with Burial at Cowgill Cemetery at a later date.
