Robert "Bob" Blair Obituary

Robert Harris (Bob) Blair, age 75, of Polo, MO passed away peacefully Monday evening, August 24th, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born August 10, 1945 the fourth child and second son to Kelsey and Katherine (Harris) Blair, in Armstrong, MO. Bob grew up in Armstrong and graduated high school there. Bob served in the National Guard and was in Kansas City during the riots. He married Jane Shifflet and to this union Mary, Stephanie and Ryan were born. Bob and Jane later divorced and in 1993 just before the “big flood” Bob married Nancy Hackett and with her came her daughter, Stephanie Stephenson. Bob worked in the agricultural cooperative system and the last 25 years before his retirement he worked at Ray Carroll County Grain Growers. He began his career with Ray Carroll as accounts collector, then moved on to buying chemicals and fertilizer for the company and retired in 2007 as Assistant General Manager. In 1997 Bob and Nancy purchased a farm and there they enjoyed the beautiful home they built and raising Angus cattle. Lots of their cows and calves were named. They had hay ground and spent part of the summer mowing, raking, baling and hauling hay. The farm was his great passion. They also had a garden each summer and enjoyed raising and canning vegetables as well as providing vegetables for friends and neighbors. Until his health wouldn’t permit it, along with Nancy , Bob faithfully attended the Polo United Methodist Church where they had many friends and enjoyed the teachings of Pastor Kyle Stith.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Blair and sister Evelyn Jane Pitts. Left to celebrate his life are his wife Nancy of the home, daughter Mary Blair of Kansas city, daughter Stephanie (Greg) Morgan of Higginsville, daughter Stephanie (Abe) of Raymore , son Ryan (Jenni) of Columbia and sister Barbara Blair of Fayette and four grandchildren, Amanda Long, Kylie and Harry Smith and Kelsey Rose Blair; mother-in-law, Ruthmary Price of Higginsville, MO; sister-in-laws, Nathaleen Blair of Bolivar and Cheryl Keim of Cameron; several nieces, nephews and other extended family. Last but not least, Bob leaves his beloved “Shotgun Rider” Quinn who sadly misses him.
