Rickie Lee Clevenger was born August 5th, Independence, MO, to Earnest and Barbara Clevenger. He went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 22, 2025, following a long battle with multiple illnesses. Rick graduated from Lathrop High School, in 1973. After high school, he moved to Kearney, MO, where he worked as a welder, also maintenance at Kearney High School. Following this, he worked several years at Lee Tires in North Kansas City. In 1988 he moved with his parents and brother to Baytown, TX, where he met and married his wife Carolyn Yvonne Cole. In Texas, he contracted to work at Phillips Petroleum, and later as maintenance at a Baytown apartment complex. After several years in Texas, the family moved to Clinton, MO. There, he worked for Schreiber Cheese company, Rick has spent most of his adult life, studying and teaching martial arts. His specialty was Shaolin Kung Fu, and he won multiple honors and trophies. Rick has always been known for his wit and humor, as nearly all his friends can attest.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Barbara (Prudden) Clevenger and his grandparents Charlie and Eva Emeline (Hatfield) Clevenger, and David Edgar and Violet (Huckaby) Prudden. He is survived by his wife of their home in Clinton, MO Carolyn Yvonne (Cole) Clevenger, sister Frankie (Thomas) Flexter of Independence, MO, brothers Charlie (Carol Sue Crouch) Clevenger of Houston, TX, and Michael (Debbie) Clevenger of Urich, MO., daughters, Corinne Nichole, Jennifer Opal, and Sarah Megan, and stepdaughters, Corina Martinez of Baytown, TX and Billie Jo Savage of Washington.
Rick was a member of Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints, in Clinton, MO.
