Richard "Rick" Lee Bisby - age 61 of Richmond, MO passed away Wednesday evening, January 20th, 2021 at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Rick was born on October 6th, 1959 the son of Robert Eugene and Nancy (Ashlock) Bisby in Colorado Springs, CO. He grew up in Kansas City, MO and attended school there. Rick served in the United States Navy in the late 1970’s while stationed in San Diego, CA. He worked as a house painter. Rick was a family man and loved his family, especially his grandkids. He was loving, genuine, but blunt and to the point. His favorite saying was “bottom line”. He enjoyed fishing, camping and drinking Fireball. He will be dearly missed.
Rick was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Amber Rachelle and grandson, Mason Casey. Survivors include: children, Eric Bisby of Richmond, Mandy (Roger) Sherman of Polo, Megan Lopez (Jason) Bohonsky of Marceline, Nikki Dickerson of Independence, Mikki Russell of Kansas City, Richard Russell of Oregon, MO, Cassie Russell of St Joseph, Erin Bisby of Kansas City and Courtney Sparks of Kansas City; siblings, Sharon (Mike) Shuman of Oregon, MO, Karon (Mike) Day of Sedalia, Robert (Judy) Bisby of Arvada, CO; 31 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild on the way; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Stith Family Funeral Home to help with final expenses. Memorial Service: 2 PM, Tuesday, January 26th, 2021, Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo. Visitation: 1-hr. prior to the service (1PM) at the funeral home. Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home. Inurnment at a later date at East Slope Cemetery, Riverside, MO.
