Richard C. "Rick" Ripple Obituary

Richard "Rick" Ripple - age 77 of Gallatin, MO passed away Tuesday night, December 31st, 2019 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, MO. Rick was born on September 27th, 1942 the son of Bernard LeRoy and Donna VonDean (Bonser) Ripple in Kansas City, MO.  He grew up in Independence, MO, and was a 1961 graduate of William Chrisman High School. Rick was baptized as a young child. In 1965 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Sibbit at the Christian Church in Tindall, MO.  Rick obtained a bachelor’s degree in religion and philosophy from Culver Stockton College.  He did weekend ministry for small churches around Canton, MO.  Rick worked as a salesman for Moorman Manufacturing Company and Vigortone.  He also worked as an assembler for Calmar Manufacturing and a courier for Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp and Kansas City International Airport. Rick did several miscellaneous jobs after retirement. He cleaned the Gallatin Baptist Church, Dockery Park, Sears and Ozark National Life Insurance Company in Kansas City.  The family moved to Gallatin in 1973.  Rick attended the First Christian Church-Gallatin for 46 years.  He was a Boy Scout Leader in Gallatin and lead a hiking adventure in Philmont New Mexico.  Rick was also the facilitator for the Gallatin Writer’s Guild.  He worked with the Salvation Army in Daviess County during the floods of 1993 and 1995.  Rick was also willing to help someone in need, even to a fault.  He was generous and giving.  Rick served the Lord Jesus Christ and had a strong testimony.  Rick collected people, banana boxes and 5-gallon buckets.  He was a hard worker and always looked for the best in people. 

Mr. Ripple was preceded in death by his parents and infant grandson, Bryndin Todd Ripple.  Survivors: wife, Marilyn of 54 years of the home;  son, Sean (Shelly) Ripple of Liberty; son, Jason (Virginia) Ripple of Maryville;  daughter, Chris (Michael) Myers of Kansas City; daughter, Faith (Emmanuel ) Adebayo of Houston, TX; son, Jeremy (Mandi) Ripple of Gallatin; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Yealy of Colorado; sister, Donna Foley of Indiana; nieces, nephews, other extended family. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church-Gallatin, MO or Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in care of the funeral home. Funeral services: 2 PM, Saturday, January 4th, 2020, First Christian Church - Gallatin.  Visitation: 1-hr. prior to the service at the church. Friends may call after 11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
