Phyllis Jean Ratkovich

Phyllis Jean Ratkovich - age 83 of Trenton, Missouri passed away Monday morning, June 12, 2023, at Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin, Missouri. Jean was born on January 25, 1940, in San Francisco, CA. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She enjoyed raising a vegetable garden,  making and collecting cookbooks, trying different recipes, fried green tomatoes, and the outdoors. Jean was a strong woman and was the backbone of her family.  She always had an open door and would help anyone. Jean especially loved her dogs. Jeans ex- daughter-in-law, whom she mothered over 34 years, Misty Miller-Smith, provided care and an abundance amount of love and laughter in her final days.  

Jean was preceded in death by her biological father, Urwin Harold Roecker;  mother and stepfather, Florence and Harold Kannengeizer; husband, Velko Ratkovich;  brother, Harold Roecker; half-brother, Ronald Roecker; and two half-sisters, Patty Roecker and Charlotte Roecker   She is survived by her children,  Rick Cobley of Grandview, MO, Beth Potter of Yuma, AZ, Nicola Ratkovich of Omaha, NE, and Samantha Ratkovich of Trenton, MO; eight grandchildren; and other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Green Hills Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home. Private family services will be held.
