Patrick R. Baird - age 52, of Polo, MO passed away Thursday night, September 22, 2022, in Cincinnati, OH. Pat was born on December 19, 1969, in Redwood City, CA. He was a 1988 graduate of Silver Creek High School in San Jose, CA. Pat served our country in the United States Army during Desert Storm and was honorably discharged in 1995. After moving to Polo in 1995, he married Jennifer Bowley on June 12th, 2004, in Las Vegas, NV and they made their home in Polo. Pat worked for Ford Motor Company in Claycomo for 26 years, where he was currently a committeeman and was proud to be a member of the UAW Local #249. Pat was a huge Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Pat was a Patriot and loved his country. He loved all kinds of animals and living in the country. Pat loved his family so much, he would do anything and everything for them. He was proud of his family. Pat had a tough exterior but a heart of Gold and would do anything for anybody. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James (Earline) Sweet, brother Reginal Sweet; and grandparents, Jim and Evelyn Wing. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Baird of Polo, MO; children, Kaitlyn Baird of Nevada, MO, Stratton Baird of Liberty, MO, Corryn Baird of the home, Austin Bowley of Gladstone, MO, and Logan Bowley of the home; grandchild, Ava Faye Bowley; parents, Susan and Bill Bazlen of Lummi Island, WA; siblings, Scott Schlesinger (Lauren)of Folsom, CA, Michael Schlesinger of Caribou, ME, Angela Crowe of Bellingham, WA, Melanie Bazlen of Seattle, WA, James Earl Sweet (Silvana) of San Jose, CA, Brian Sweet of San Jose, CA, Eric Sweet of Philadelphia, PA, Darlene Sweet of San Leandro, CA, Dean Sweet of Las Vegas, NV, Curly Biggs (Linda) of VA; and other extended family members survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family for funeral expenses or Polo School District Bright Futures in care of the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 29th, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Polo. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 12:30 PM, Tuesday, October 4th, 2022, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
