Pat was born September 7th, 1952, in Pattonsburg, MO, the daughter of Letha Loraine Daniel and Oren Kermit “Boney” Shipers. She graduated from Pattonsburg High School in 1970. She started working at Pattonsburg Manufacturing making baseball caps. She moved from Pattonsburg after graduation to Kansas City, MO to begin working, leading to administrative positions at Western Casualty Insurance Company, an investment company, Kansas City Carnival doing book keeping and finance, and Rival Manufacturing, until she returned to Gallatin and worked for John’s Amoco. Prior to retirement, Pat worked at Western Missouri Correctional Center. Pat was united in marriage to Daniel C. Youngs on September 20, 1997 in Gallatin, where they purchased their dream property and made their home.

Pat’s favorite memories and times of year involved the holidays she spent with her friends and family. Her favorite by far was Christmastime, when she and her sister Annie would stay up late into the night wrapping presents for the family, and then watching with joy as the children and grandchildren opened the presents on Christmas morning. Pat and Annie also had a tradition of swapping a set of ugly ceramic duck statues back and forth at Christmastime, each trying to offload the set on the other. In the summer, Pat loved to take her family to the lake and enjoyed water skiing, camping, cooking, and laughing with friends and family. Summertime also brought another of Pat’s favorite times of year, the 4th of July, which she celebrated with huge cookouts and trap shooting before lighting up the sky with fireworks for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid and extremely loyal fan of the Kansas City Chiefs all her life, rarely missing a game. Friends and family can attest that Pat never shied away from telling the referees what they were doing wrong. Pat loved her children and grandchildren and spent as much time as possible supporting and taking care of them throughout her entire life. She was strong-willed, full of love, and supportive of her family through anything. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit “Boney” and Letha Shipers; Her beloved husband Dan Youngs and his son, Chad; her daughter, Jennifer Brown; 3 sisters, Mary Anita Shipers; Georgia Kay Shipers; and SharenLea Moore; 3brothers, Robert “Bobby” Shipers; Paul Michael Shipers; and David Dale Shipers.

Survivors include her son Chris Baker (Johnathon Bish) of Kansas City; son-in-law Trevor Brown of St. Joseph; 2 grandchildren Emma Brown and Connor Brown of Savannah; Multiple Nieces and Nephews.
