Patricia "Pat" Brown, 75, of Odessa, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, at Kansas City Hospice House, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Pat was born on July 29, 1949, in Electra, TX, to the late Russell and Florence Owen. She graduated from Sam Houston High School and later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she met her future husband, James Brown. They were married on December 19, 1968, and enjoyed more than 50 years of love and partnership.

Throughout her career, Pat worked in a variety of roles, including office management in several car dealerships, a brief stint as a realtor, and ultimately retiring as an office manager for the Internal Revenue Service. After retirement, she embraced her passion for quilting and counted cross-stitch, creating treasured works of art for her family.

Pat was well known for her soft-spoken nature, kind heart, and her ability to always look for the good in everyone. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, finding joy in the company of her loved ones. Whether she was crafting a new quilt or enjoying a quiet moment with family, Pat’s presence was a constant source of warmth and kindness.

She is survived by her husband, James Brown; children, Tim (Kayla) Brown, Jamie (Dave) Buckley; grandchildren, Kirstie and Alexandra; and sister, Mickey Maia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Allen Owen.

Graveside services will be held at Clear Creek Cemetery in Lock Springs, Missouri, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kansas City Hospice House or The American Cancer Society in Pat’s memory.
Pat’s gentle spirit, love for her family, and unshakable belief in the good in others will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
