Nancy Lucille (Mohler) Veillette - age 79 of Braymer, MO, passed away Monday evening, July 14, 2025, at her home in Braymer. Nancy was born on December 2, 1945, the daughter of John and Edna (Bowles) Mohler in Kansas City, MO. Nancy grew up in Braymer and was a 1963 graduate of Braymer High School. Following high school, she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Education from William Jewell College. Nancy was a kindergarten teacher. Before returning to Braymer, she had lived in North Kansas City, Ottawa, Ontario, Washington, DC, Henderson, NY and Chatam, MA. She was a member of the PEO and had attended the Braymer Christian Church. Nancy enjoyed music and Civil War history. She loved animals, reading and travelling. Nancy especially loved her dog JJ . Nancy will be dearly missed.
Nancy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Samuel and Nellie Mohler; maternal grandparents, O.J. and Tressie Bowles; her parents and ex-husband, Peter Veillette. She is survived by her sister, Mary Sullenger (John) of Gallatin, MO; niece, Amy Heldenbrand (Travis) of Gallatin, MO, niece, Kara Sullenger of Liberty, MO, great-niece, Paige Heldenbrand of Gallatin, MO; great-nephew, Liam Heldenbrand of Gallatin, MO; great-nephew, Lucas Gutierrez-Sullenger of Liberty, MO; great-niece, Mila Gutierrez - Sullenger, cousins and other extended family members and special friend, Tom Wallace also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Chillicothe Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Nancy's life will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, July 27th, 2025, at Polo Community Church in Polo. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will be at Low Gap Cemetery near Norborne, MO Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Polo (660) 354-2214.
