Michael George Larson

Michael George Larson, 66, of Lathrop, Missouri passed away Thursday morning, April 27, 2023, at his home in Lathrop. Mike was born on April 10, 1957, the son of George William and Olive Irene (Stogsdill) Larson in Hillsboro, Oregon. He grew up in Livermore, CA and Williams, AZ. Mike married Sandra Deskin on May 31, 1980, in Ash Fork, Arizona. Throughout their married life they raised their family in Phoenix, AZ, Goodland, KS, East Palestine, OH, Java Center, NY, and Tonganoxie, KS. Later, they lived in Lenexa, KS and Olathe, KS, before moving to Lathrop 3 years ago. 

Mike was an award-winning truck driver for Roadway Express and YRC Freight. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #41.  Mike loved spending time outdoors, from mowing his yard, to planting trees, to taking his dogs to the lake. Mike had a gift for repairing and working on computers, and often used that gift in service of his friends. He enjoyed singing and listening to all kinds of music, especially classic rock. Mike is remembered as a man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and taking day trips to see different sites with Sandy. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents George and Olive Larson, and his brother, Winford Lee Larson. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Larson of the home; son, Paul Larson (Amber) and their children Johnathen, Beau, Emily, Juliette, Emmett, Benjamin, Liam, and Everleigh; daughter, Kimberly Sledd (Jacob) and their children Natalie, Grace, Asher, and Scarlett; daughter, Sarah Harnden (Robert) and their children Robert Jr., Evelynne, Henry, and Harrison; sister, Tammy McDaniel (Butch) and their children and grandchildren; brother, David Larson and his children and grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends also survive. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warriors Project in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home in Lathrop.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
