Michael Bond

Michael Bond, 36, of Lathrop, MO, passed away on January 20, 2025.

Born September 1, 1988, in Smithville, MO, Michael grew up in Lathrop, graduating from Liberty High School in 2007. He attended Mizzou and worked at Magna for the past eight years. Michael was known for his infectious energy and love for life, always the center of attention and the life of the party. He shared many adventures with his partner, Cody, and had a special fondness for penguins.

Michael will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His spirit of fun, laughter, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to share in his joy.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nick and Erlene Nichols and niece Ariana Gardner. He is survived by his partner Cody Harris of Lathrop, MO; his mother, Cheryl Blankenship (Joe) of Lathrop, MO; siblings, Jessica Heimann (Jim) of Lake St. Louis, MO, Brian Gardner of Liberty, MO, Krystal Bowlin (Aaron) of Lathrop, MO, and Alexis Blankenship of Lathrop, MO; and his nephew, Xavior Powers of Liberty, MO, niece Tessa Gardner of North Kansas City, MO, niece Harper Gardner of North Kansas City, MO, nephew Brooks Heimann of Lake St. Louis, MO, Cat Meezy, other extended family members and many friends also survive.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Global Penguin Society in care of the funeral home. A Celebration of Life is being planned.
