Obituary
Mary M. DeWeerdt - age 94 of Plattsburg, MO and formerly of Lathrop, MO, passed away Saturday morning, February 4th , 2023, at Oakridge of Plattsburg. Mary was born on November 29, 1928, the daughter of Simon and Margaret (DeSmet) DeWeerdt in Kansas City, MO. She grew up in Kansas City and moved to Lathrop in the 1960s. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Plattsburg. Mary enjoyed listening to Jim Nabors music and her large CD collection. She also liked to take pictures.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Rosie Maples of Sedalia, MO; nephew, Steve Maples (Nancy) of Warsaw, MO, nephew Tom Maples (Monty) of Warsaw, MO; 5 great nieces, 1 great nephew, 2 great-great nieces and 4 great-great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Plattsburg Senior Center in care of the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 7th, 2023, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Plattsburg, MO. The Rosary will be prayed beginning at 10:45 AM, Tuesday at the church. There is no scheduled family visitation. Burial will follow at Cameron Memory Gardens, Cameron, MO. Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Lathrop (816) 740-4658.
