Mary Jo Brown - age 79 of Liberty, MO passed away Monday afternoon, April 4, 2022, at The Laurel at Norterre in Liberty, Missouri with her family by her side.

Mary Jo was born on April 11, 1942, the daughter of Joseph M. and Helen (Horner) Coker in San Diego, CA. She grew up in Raytown, MO and was a 1959 graduate of Raytown High School. On July 12th, 1964, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, David Earl Brown. She was a homemaker until her daughters were school aged, at which time she obtained a CNA and worked at Cameron Hospital. She then took on the adventure of helping her husband run the grocery store in Kansas City North. After helping that be a success, she returned to school obtained a bachelor's degree in education Penn Valley Community College and where she found her passion for teaching preschool there at the Francis Child Development Institute.  Mary was also a devoted member of the Lathrop First Christian Church, where she served as President of CFW, elder and helped with the children’s ministry.  She loved to volunteer, and served through The Lathrop  Community Outreach. Mary Jo would give you the shirt off of her back if she thought you deserved it. She could be all business to get things accomplished but still enjoyed having a good time being silly but was best known for her sassy side.  Mary Jo loved her family and is so proud of them, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
