Mary Frances (Harris) Weldon, age 90, of Kidder, Missouri, formerly of Gallatin, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at the NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri. Mary was born July 21, 1932, in Weatherby, Missouri, to Carl and Lillie (Born) Harris, the fifth of nine children. She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1950, and went on to work at Lambert’s Cap Factory in Gallatin and later, the shoe factory in Hamilton. Mary was united in marriage to Jack Weldon on September 2, 1973, in Stanberry, Missouri. They made their home in Gallatin. She attended the First Christian Church in Gallatin and Cameron and was a member of the Cameron Elks Lodge. Mary was an expert seamstress and enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, baking and the outdoors. She was energetic and always on the go. Mary was loving and always took care of people. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Ethel Drummond, Johnnie Harris, George Harris, Dean Harris and Jimmie Harris, her husband Jack Weldon. Survivors include siblings Bea Cummins of Oak Grove, Wayne Harris and wife Marcella of Gallatin, and Jerry Harris of Gallatin, many special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church in Gallatin or Cameron or the Active Aging Resource Center in Gallatin. The family will host a Celebration of Life at the family farm at a later date. Burial will be at Centenary Cemetery near Gallatin.
