Mark A. Elder

Mark A. Elder – age 68 of Cape Fair, Missouri passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  Mark was born on March 5th, 1956, the son of Bob Elder and Peggy (McMahon) Elder in Cameron, Missouri.  Mark grew up in Cameron and graduated Winnetonka High School. Mark was united in marriage to Stephanie Elder January 13th, 1998.  He was a great husband, Dad and Grandpa.  Mark had a “gift of gab”, a kind spirit and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his wife and family deeply. He will be dearly missed.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandmother, father, mother and stepfather. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Elder of Cape Fair, Missouri, his son Chad (Amanda) Elder of Liberty, Missouri, 3 grandchildren, Brody, Abbie and Skyler, brother-in-law Duce (Tania) Vaught, nieces Katelin and Hanna of Polo, Missouri and a host of friends.

A service celebrating Mark’s life will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, January 18th 2025 at the Westrip Funeral Home in Crane, Missouri.  Burial will follow at Prairie Ridge Cemetery, Polo, Missouri, Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2pm.

We will honor Mark's wishes and wear Chiefs attire. Feel free to wear your Chiefs gear if you like.

Family and friends are invited to share a meal with the family at the American Legion in Polo after the graveside service.
