Marjory Wright – age 82 – of Gallatin, MO, passed away Sunday evening, July 21st, 2019 at Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin. Marjory was born on June 20th, 1937 the daughter of Spurgeon Harris and Charlotte (Milholland) Crowe in Livingston County, MO. She was a 1955 graduate of Wheeling High School. Marjory was united in marriage to James Gordon Wright in 1955 at the Gallatin United Methodist Church. Marjory worked for Lynch’s Grocery Store, the toy factory in Maysville, MO and was a cook for the Gallatin School District as well as PJ’s Restaurant in Gallatin. She was a member of the Gallatin United Methodist Church. Marjory was also a devoted homemaker. She liked roses and enjoyed gardening, fishing and farming. Marjory enjoyed the cattle they raised. Her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, held a special place in her heart.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Wright; brother, Harold Crowe; brother, Jerry Crowe; brother, Orville Crowe; sister, Bernadine Singleton; sister, Dorothy Capps; brother, Virgil Crowe and great-grandson, Tyrus Loucks. Those left to mourn her passing include: daughter, Debbie (Billy Bob) Breeden of Kansas City, MO; son, John (Ina) Wright of Gallatin, MO; son, Michael Todd (Kimberly) Wright of Osawkie, KS; daughter, Heather K. (Mike) McNeely of Kearney, MO; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Active Aging Resource Center or to the Daviess County Food Bank. Funeral Services will be held at 7 PM Thursday evening, July 25th, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Friends may call after 11 AM Thursday at the funeral Home. Inurnment at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Arrangements are under the direction of Stith Funeral Home, Gallatin.
