Mandy Lea Whitington – age 42 of Braymer, MO passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Saint Luke’s North Hospital in Kansas City. Mandy was born on May 26th, 1981, the daughter of Kenny and Julie (Anderson) Mayberry in Kansas City, MO. She grew up in Raytown and attended Raytown South High School. She obtained an associate degree in business administration from North Central Missouri College in Trenton. She married Michael Whitington on April 12th, 2003, at the Braymer United Methodist Church. Mandy was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Braymer. She worked with her grandfather, Richard Anderson, in the restaurant business before taking over the Busy Bee Café in Braymer. She had been active in the Braymer community; a previous member with the Chamber of Commerce, participated on the Fair Committee, and was involved in other various activities. Mandy was outgoing and fearless and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Mandy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard, and Myrna Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Mike of the home; children, Makayla Frisch (Michael) of Cowgill, MO, Michael Whitington of Braymer, MO, Mason Whitington of Braymer, MO, and Maliyah Whitington of Braymer, MO; her parents, Kenny (Tammy) Mayberry of Brookfield, MO, Julie (Jerry) Hicks of Braymer, MO; brother, David Hicks of Tyler, TX; father-in-law, Russell Whitington of Belton, MO; mother-in-law, Vickie Harbert of Lee’s Summit, MO; and her grandmother-in-law, Jeanie Whitington (David) of Raytown, MO; other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mike Whitington for final expenses in care of the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held from 11 AM to 10 PM, Wednesday, August 9th, 2023, at the Braymer Lion's Club Community Building.
