Lucille "Lucy" Durham - age 86 of Polo, MO and formerly of Slater and Dixon, MO passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at her daughter's home in Polo. Lucy was born on October 11, 1938, the daughter of Amos and Nannie Celesta (Fizer) Morton in Gilliam, MO. She grew up in Saline County. She married Albert "Butch" Durham and to this union five children were born. They raised their family in Dixon. In addition to being a homemaker she worked as a dietician at the Big Bend Nursing Home in Slater. Lucy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, working puzzle books, John Wayne, Gunsmoke, MASH and Westerns. She made the best fried chicken. She never forgot a name or face. Lucy loved music and dancing. Lucy was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Edward, Curtis, Betty, Mary, Kenny, and George; the father of her children, Albert "Butch" Durham; great-granddaughter, Kendra Baker and son-in-law, John Boston. She is survived by her children, Patty Dixon (Jeff) of Polo, MO, Tina Boston of Republic, MO, Denise Stoner of Republic, MO, Darrell Durham of Dixon, MO, and Celesta Page (Richard) of New Bloomfield, MO; fifteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Mildred "Millie" Bryson of Slater, MO, Harold Morton of Hardeman, MO, and AC Morton of MO; several nieces, nephews cousins and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home. The family will gather with friends from 1 PM to 3 PM, Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Polo.
