Lonnie Norris

Lonnie Norris - age 72 of Altamont, MO passed away Monday afternoon, January 3rd, 2022, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, MO. Lonnie was born on October 22nd, 1949, the son of Lee and Ethel (Estes) Norris in St. Joseph, MO. He grew up and attended school in St. Joseph. Prior to moving to Altamont, he lived in Eagleville, MO and the state of California.  Lonnie was an over the road truck driver. He loved trucking, fishing, deer hunting and trips to the casino. On September 15th, 2014, he was united in marriage to Sue Belsher in Mississippi. Lonnie will be dearly missed.

 Lonnie was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, his parents and siblings, Charles, Bo, Dorothy, Wanda, Bessie and Sonnie. Survivors include his daughter, Valerie Hopper (Jeff) of Boonville, MO; stepchildren, Bill Pettit (Stacy) of Gallatin, MO, Mark Pettit (Heidi) of Jamesport, MO, Sherri Smith (Chance) of Gallatin, MO, John Pettit (Renay) of Gallatin, MO; twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, January 7th, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Gallatin. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the church. Friends may call from 11 AM to 5 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
