Lloyd D. Riley - age 79, of Gallatin, MO, passed away Sunday night, March 22nd, 2020, at Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin. Lloyd was born on February 19th, 1941 the son of Lloyd Edwin and Wilma Nadine (Barr) Riley in Kearney, MO. He was a 1959 graduate of Kearney High School. On August 5th, 1960 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Prentice in Kearney, MO. The couple made their first home on a farm east of Kearney and in 1973, they moved their family to the farm south of Gallatin, MO. Lloyd was your classic, self-made, hard-working farmer all of his life. He served his community as a member of the Masonic Lodge, member of the board of directors for Greenhills Communications for over 30 years, serving as president for 23 of those years. Lloyd loved his family, especially his wife, Evelyn, and enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren at every opportunity. He was an avid fan of western movies and books with John Wayne and Louis L’Amour at the top of his list. Farming, horses, working with cattle and his seat at the “coffee shop” were important to him. He will be dearly missed.
