Linda B. Johnson, age 76 of Cameron, MO, passed away peacefully, Sunday evening, May 17th, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on December 3rd, 1943 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Lewis Ray Allen and Velva Jewell Eilene (Trussell) Ivy. As a young child she was baptized at the Holt Baptist Church. Linda was a 1962 graduate of Lathrop High School. On October 7th, 1962 she was united in marriage to Lyndall Johnson in Independence, MO. They made their home in Holt, MO for 32 years before moving to rural Cameron in 1998. Linda worked for Milbank Manufacturing in Kansas City as a punch press operator and foreman. She was a member of the Holt and Cameron United Methodist Churches. Linda always put the needs of others first, especially those of her family. She was always willing to help and would give the shirt off of her back. Linda was strong-willed, but patient. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. Linda loved flowers, embroidering baby blankets for children and grandchildren. Linda’s love for her family was evident. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Jennie Williams; granddaughter, Tabitha Cantwell; brother, Robbie Ivy; brother, Jack Ivy Sr.; sister, Dixie Ivy. Survivors: husband, Lyndall of the home; son, Larry (Wendy) Johnson of Excelsior Springs; daughter, Lisa (Stan) Holder of Cameron; son, Lonnie Johnson of Cameron; daughter, Lori Johnson of Cameron; daughter, Beverly Cisco of Lee’s Summit; daughter, Jody (Lou) Cantwell of Cameron; sister, Carol King of Lathrop; brother, Ray Ivy of Lathrop; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family also survive.
Flowers are appreciated and memorial contributions are suggested to the Masonic Home of Missouri or Polo United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home. Funeral service: 1 PM, Friday, May 22nd, 2020, Polo United Methodist Church, Polo, MO. Visitation: 5 to 8 PM, Thursday evening, also at the church. Those in attendance will be asked to follow social distancing guidelines and CDC recommendations. Burial to follow at Cowgill Cemetery, Cowgill, MO.
