Linda (Frost) Madison

Linda (Frost) Madison, age 72, of Gallatin, MO passed away Wednesday night, March 4, 2020, at LaVerna Senior Living of Savannah.  Linda was born August 17, 1947, the daughter of Harold and Irene (Reynolds) Frost. Growing up on a farm, Linda developed a love of animals that lasted throughout her lifetime.  Some of her happiest times were spent riding horses and taking care of her furry friends, from calves to lambs to dogs and cats.  Linda attended Gallatin High School, excelling in home economics and glee club, and was a life-long resident of Gallatin.

After high school graduation, in the summer of 1965, Linda got married to Charles Madison and had three children. Though Linda held various jobs both outside and inside the home, her primary focus was raising her children and caring for animals that needed a home. Linda always worked hard to build traditions and memories for her family and to support and encourage them in their personal endeavors, never wanting the spotlight on herself.  She was a model of compassion by helping those who could not help themselves, especially children and animals. She dedicated countless hours to the rescue and care of abandoned dogs and cats, and the occasional blind calf, taking them into her home, sheltering them from harsh weather, tending to their medical needs, and feeding the hungry, even if that meant daily drives around town to care for feral cats or neglected dogs. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Skie Dreesen. She is survived by her brothers Duane (Ruth) Frost and Jerry (Kathy) Frost, both of Gallatin; her children Janie (Mark) McDaniel of Rea, Kristi (Dan) Dreesen of Cameron, and Daniel (Gerri) Madison of Rosendale; and grandchildren Haley (Jon) Punzo, Brooke, Tanner, and Trey McDaniel; Tim, Jeff, Zack, Hayley, Samara, and Destiny Dreesen; and Trevor and Troy Madison; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Green Hills Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home. Funeral Service: 11 AM, Monday, March 9th, 2020, Stith Funeral Home, Gallatin. Visitation: one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Friends may call 9 AM to 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
