Leah Marie Tucker - age 78 of Kearney, MO, went to be with her Heavenly Father surrounded by her family Saturday evening, September 28, 2024, at Liberty Hospital. Leah was born on July 24, 1946, the daughter of Charles Henry and Eileen Elizabeth (Tracy) Peters in Canton, NY. She grew up in Canton and graduated from high school there. Her marriage to David Tucker brought her to Missouri and that is where they raised their seven children. Leah was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Crooked River Ward. Leah was thoughtful and caring; she had a heart to do for others. Always making dinner, bread or dessert for somebody, family or not. She was an excellent cook. Leah will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Leah was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Mathew Tucker. She is survived by seven children, Kelly Williams (Scott) of Lathrop, MO, Aaron Tucker (Joelle) of AZ, Karen Bryant (Todd) of Platte City, MO, Brian Tucker (Tammy) of Lawson, MO, Amy Gebo (Eric) of Allen, TX, Stephan Tucker (Hillary) of Kansas City, MO, and Cathleen Tucker of Lathrop, MO; the father of her children, David Tucker; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three siblings, James Dean (Rita) of TX, Robert Dean (Sharon) of Canton, NY, and Elaine White of Canton, NY; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of your choice in care of the funeral home. Some of the things Leah was passionate about include: Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, KU Medical Center, Congenital Heart Defects, Muscular Sclerosis, The Children's Heart Foundation. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kearney, MO. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM, until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Lathrop Cemetery.
