Larry Ruch Obituary

 

Larry Ruch - age 75 of Jameson, Missouri passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 5, 2024, at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron, Missouri. Larry was born on April 16, 1949, the son of Malvin and Joan  (Chambers) Ruch in Marshalltown, Iowa. He grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa and graduated in 1967 from Marshalltown High School. When Larry was a fourth grader, he travelled with his mother and sister to visit his grandparents in Australia and attended school there for six months and experienced many Australian traditions. He was united in marriage to Carla VanZee on November 7, 1969, at Grace United Methodist church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Larry served in the United States Navy during Vietnam and was stationed in San Diego and Chicago. In 1982 Larry and Carla moved to Gilman City and then later to Jameson. Larry worked for Lennox Industries and then retired from Landmark Manufacturing after over 25 years of service. He loved the Beatles, classic rock and roll, along with John Lennon. Larry enjoyed westerns and was a big fan of John Wayne. He loved his family. Larry will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 


Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lennon Ruch and sister, Noreen Marquis. He is survived by his wife Carla of the home; daughter, Kelli Cleaveland (Jeff) of Stewartsville, MO; grandchildren, Karlee Mclain (Adam) of Stewartsville, MO, Joe Cleaveland (Hannah Enneking) of Chillicothe, MO, Lacey Jessa (Mike) of Big Lake, MN, Taylar Huffman of Big Lake, MN, and Jon Ruch (Katie Cottrell) of Gilman City, MO; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Deb Mead (Dan) of Marshalltown, IA; brother-in-law, Carl Marquis of TX; sister-in-law, Carol Haney (John) of Marshalltown, IA; nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery in care of the funeral home. Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery, near Jamesport, MO. There is no scheduled visitation.
