LaVonna Lea McLey

LaVonna Lea McLey - age 81 of Gallatin, MO passed away Friday morning, March 25, 2022, at Quail Run Health Care Center in Cameron. LaVonna was born on April 29, 1940, the daughter of Glen  and Bessie (Pearl) Myrick in Fairport, MO. She grew up in Fairport, MO and Cameron, MO, graduating from Cameron High School. On January 18th, 1958 she was united in marriage to Ivan Ray McLey in Jamesport. In addition to being a homemaker she worked in restaurants and co-owned  McLey's Corner Store in Gallatin with her daughter-in-law, Cheryl McLey. She was a collector and a fan of Elvis. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Gallatin and later attended the First Christian Church in Gallatin.  LaVonna loved her dogs and enjoyed going to Branson. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. 

LaVonna was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; grandson, Jared McLey and sisters, Glennadean Jones and Ann Mattox; and several nephews. She is survived by sons, Terry McLey (Cheryl) of Gallatin, MO, Donnie McLey of Gallatin, MO, David McLey (Diane) of Gallatin, MO, and Billy McLey (Laura) of Gallatin, MO; grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, Richard, Olivia, Myrick, Micheal, Kelsie and Ivan; several great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Juanita Stretch of Bolivar, MO and other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery in care of the funeral home.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 29th, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. Graveside services will follow at Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery near Jamesport.  Friends may call after 9 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
