Kenny "Red" Hicks - age 59 of Polo, MO passed away Monday morning, May 13, 2024, at his home in Polo, surrounded by family and friends, after an extensive battle with cancer. Kenny was born on May 27, 1964, the son of Walter Dean and Maxine (Wible) Hicks in Richmond, MO. He was a 1982 graduate of Polo High School. Kenny worked in construction and retired from AL Huber after 23 years of service. He also owned Red's Pawn Shop for several years. Kenny loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Hunting, fishing, bow fishing and shooting trap were passions of Kenny's and he enjoyed sharing those passions with his grandchildren, family and friends. He even enjoyed taking his granddaughters to the nail salon. It gave him great joy to watch his grandson, Wes participate in archery competitions and anything the grandkids were doing. Red was easy going and made friends wherever he went. Kenny would do anything for anybody; he especially enjoyed getting youth involved in the outdoor activities that he loved.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Walter Dean Hicks and his nephews, Justin Hicks, and Matt Tucker. He is survived by his children, Zac Hicks (Lindsey) of Polo, MO and Tara Robinson (Brian) of Vail, AZ; seven grandchildren, Reese, Hadley, Paisley, Hayden, Abrielle, Wes and Lettie; his mother, Maxine Hicks of Polo, MO; siblings, Adriana Gorham (Bill) of Polo, MO and Max Hicks (Nina) of Polo, MO; stepson, Tyler (Disney) Fesmire of Braymer, MO; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
