Kenny "Lukie" Lukehart -age 86 of Gallatin passed away Monday morning, March 18th, 2019 at the VA Hospital in Kansas City. Kenny was born on April 18th, 1932 the son of Garland and Lorene Lukehart in Gallatin, MO. On February 12th, 1953 he was united in marriage to Shirley Snider in Gallatin. Kenny served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from October 2nd, 1952 until his honorable discharge on October 1st, 1954. He attended Gallatin Schools. Kenny retired from the City of Gallatin Police Department. He also drove a school bus for the Gallatin School District and drove a semi-truck as well. Kenny was a member of the Gallatin VFW Post and the First Baptist Church in Gallatin. He loved his family, fishing, hunting and being on the Grand River. Kenny was always ready to tell a good story. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Lukehart was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Steven Charles Lukehart; daughter, Penny Rea Lukehart; sister, Ilene “Sue” Manchester; sister, Betty Taylor; brother, Lawrence “Red” Lukehart; brother, George Lukehart; brother, Delbert “Pie” Lukehart; brother, Buddy Lukehart; brother, Thurman Lukehart. Those left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life include: wife, Shirley of the home; son, Jerry Lukehart of Gallatin; daughter, Theresa (Scott) Schill of Warrensburg; daughter, Kim (Terry) Cornett of Gallatin; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Active Aging Resource Center or the Lighthouse Learning Center. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday, March 22nd, 2019 at Greenwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Daviess County Country Club (Business Hwy 6 (Grand St) Gallatin, MO 64640) immediately following the graveside service.
