John Arthur Dale Jr. - age 70 of Gallatin, MO passed away Saturday afternoon, December 7, 2024 at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron, Missouri. John was born on February 25, 1954, the son of John Arthur, Sr. and Bonnie (Weiser) Dale in St Joseph. He grew up in St. Joe and was a graduate of Benton High School. John attended Missouri Western and studied theater and history. He also obtained mechanical training. John served in the Unites States Army and the Air National Guard. He had worked at Mead and was a police officer for the City of St. Joseph. John was well rounded and a jack of all trades. He retired from the Department of Corrections, having worked at Crossroads Correctional and Western Correctional Centers. He married Alysia Brook Sawyer on June 28th, 1996, in St. Joe. John was a member of the Gallatin Seventh-day Adventist Church. He loved the Lord and loved to preach. John enjoyed talking politics and could be stubborn. John also liked to paint pictures. He loved to spoil his grandchildren and his dog, Killer. John will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brother David Dale; grandchild, Luna Jones; infant grandchild; grandchild, Jacob Allen Osteen and great-grandchild, Crue Osteen He is survived by his wife Brook Dale; children, Bobby Dale of St. Joseph, MO, Melanie Osteen (Dane) of Sedalia, MO, Melinda Dale, James Arthur Dale (Shelby) of Pattonsburg, MO, and Johnnie Brook Dale of Gallatin, MO; grandchildren, Gracie, Wyatt, Chloe, Tyler Melenna and Blake; other grandchildren; Several great-grandchildren; several siblings and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Gallatin Seventh-day Adventist Church in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating John's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 13, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, the evening prior at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow at Winston Cemetery, Winston, MO.
